The team of Scandinavian conference equipment manufacturer DIS has presented latest hard- and software products on an 18 sqm booth during infoComm Middle East & Africa in Dubai. Visitors took the chance to “play” with DDS 5900 components, the CP 7851 camera control package running on Apple’s iPad or latest release of the web browser which can even display different languages now. Still kept rather secret but on display was the new Control Unit (CU) for the DSC 6000 digital conference system. CU 6105 is already available on the market and on first sight it looks like CU 5905. The four analog outputs can be assigned for the interpreted languages, for recording or for an external PA. Same as in the “small” DDS 5900 system several settings on the new DCS 6000 CU’s can now be adjusted and controlled via web browser.

DIS is celebrating their 60s anniversary and the local branch office DIS Middle East their 10^th anniversary this year, not to mention that everybody is very proud to be part of the SHURE company now which could also be seen in the new company logo.

Adelaide, October 2012 – Professional Audio Technology Pty Ltd announced today that they have recently delivered two large DIS systems to Integrated Media for the installation at Adelaide City Council.

Adelaide based Integration company and acoustical specialist Integrated Media installed one DIS system for the Adelaide City Council Camber, consisting of a CU6005 Central controller unit, 1 x DC6990P chairman unit with touch screen controls and 18 delegate conferencing units, plus two hand held microphones for speakers in the public gallery. A second virtually identical DIS system was installed into the Adelaide City Committee Room.  Adelaide City Council – Capital Works and Infrastructure Project Manager – Josh Axton expressed his appreciation to Integrated Media “…for a job well done. I am extremely impressed with not only the DIS system Integrated Media have provided but also the way they have gone about the installation.”

Integrated Media Project Director John Matheson commented on the DIS technology “I am very pleased with the audio quality of the DIS System, both through the desk stations and the attached PA speakers. It’s all very stable, clear and intelligible – actually quite transparent.”

Close cooperation between Professional Audio Technology and Integrated Media assured that all technical and delivery timelines were met. Between 10th and 12th September 2012, DIS executed three DDS 5900 & CP 7851 seminars for the staff of exclusive distributor aDawliah Electronic Appliances in Saudi Arabia.

The seminars were held at aDwaliah’s headquater in Al-Khobar, in Saudi’s capital Riyadh as well as in Jeddah. In total more than 40 selected Showroom Managers, Salesmen and Technicians got introduced to the new Digital Discussion System and the Camera Control Package.

In his presentation Product Support Engineer Steen Teglstrup showed the user benefits of DDS 5900 and how comfortable it can be to control a discussion system and cameras with an iPad.

aDawliah, also exclusive SHURE distributor in Saudi Arabia for many years, is experienced in selling discussion systems (e.g. SHURE Conference One), but what aDawliah staff learned about the new features of DDS 5900 during the seminars exceed their expectations by far.

DIS has just participated in the annual PLASA show in London. This year was the last time at renowned “Earls Court” as the show will move to the larger and more up to date facilities at ExCel London in 2013.

Together with SHURE Distribution UK, our official distributor for the UK market, we introduced the new discussion system, DDS 5900 to the British market. “The system was extremely well received” says DIS Area Sales Manager, Martin Kaaber and continues: “The visitors were equally excited by the stylish design and the overall product quality but most striking was the build-in web browser controlled applications for setting up the system and handling the microphones”.

We are happy to announce that our partner Croc Company, one of the main integrators in Russia, had implemented audio-visual project for Baikalsky Regional Office of Sberbank Russia.

The main goal of the project was to ensure company management of the Baikalsky Regional Office with video, audio and telecommunication equipment.

The DIS DCS 6000 system was installed in two halls to ensure the regulations of activities. The DC 6990 P units with touch screen are provided possibility of interpretation, voting, operation in common with the Interpreter Units IS 6132 and the package of SW6000 software.

The equipped conference halls are multifunctional. There are a lot of equipment from the other manufacturers. For example Videoconference System by Polycom. DCS 6000 has simple and reliable connection with the requirement equipment. It allows use DIS equipment in any kind of projects.

Audio-visual infrastructure which was built by Croc’s specialists is allowed to Baikalsky Bank users to organize their work for the bank’s projects, to improve the communication with the regional departments.

In the beginning of May, DIS held two Seminars in Dubai. Selected partners from various countries like Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Qatar and UAE was trained on new products like the Digital Discussion System DDS 5900 as well as our Camera Control Package CP7851.

In his presentation, Product Support Engineer Mr. Steen Teglstrup explained not only concept and system features, but also pointed out the benefits to the web browser for the DDS 5900 and easy handling of CP 7851.

Area Sales Manager Chris Hellmuth states " as the seminar concept was different compared to previous years we were worried if we could attract enough people to attend. But although each seminar was only 3 hours long it didn´t scare away our valuable partners at all. It seems that with our new product lines, we exactly meet market demands as well as expectations from our clients, and therefore they don´t mind even to fly in as it´s worth the time and money" .

The exclusive agreement for the DDS 5900 system is something DIS has not done previously, but DIS believes that we have found the right company to do this with.

A DIS conference system was again chosen in a very successful global summit in Korea.

DIS Korea has a large record with DIS conference system being used in very large international events. DIS Korea were involved in G20 meeting held in Seoul in 2010 as well as ASEM in Seoul in 2000, APEC in Busa in 2005, Korean and Asean meeting in Jeju in 2009. Last month at the Nuclear Security Summit, DIS was the only conference brand being used during at this large event.

Customized software and backup, backup controller, more than 17 + 1 languages, well experienced technical staffs were required for this special event. DIS Korea long history with DIS Conference systems is capable of handling large global meetings where no errors or down time are accepted.

DIS is proud to introduce a new complete camera control package for easy implementation to the DCS6000 Digital Conference System. The package consists of a camera controller, a wireless router and an iPad. 

The camera controller is, as the previous CP7801, preloaded with an algorithm for mowing up to four cameras supported by the Visca protocol.

The new iPad feature is not only preloaded with a camera control application that allows the user to easy pre-set up to 400 seats per camera, but makes it possible to assign delegate names to the seats. Video feedback makes it possible to pre-set camera positions walking around in your meeting area, just using the wireless iPad.

When operation the system, the camera controller controls the camera(s) as well as an optional video switcher. When a microphone turns on, the controller moves the first available camera to the specific seat. It is possible to set a delay before the camera switches to an active seat, to avoid pictures of camera movement. - Also it´s possible to specify how many microphones which can be opened before the camera controller switches to an overview picture.  

China: Jilin province based Yatai Group Company Limited recently chose to have DIS equipment installed at their corporate headquarters in Changchun City.

The installation is made of DIS fully digital 6000 conference system and includes 119 units of flush mounted units the 6121F model in one single large meeting room. Main purpose of the room is to conduct meetings from middle to top management to discuss and decide on policies for the groups various businesses.

DIS area Sales Manager Kim Muurholm Jürgensen states *due to the large size of the meeting room and the decision to go for flush mounted units instead of portable/table top ones makes this installation an interesting rarity in China *. The installation was performed by DIS local partner Wincomn technology.

It was already the third time and year that CIMATECH presented products of Scandinavian Conference Specialist Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS) at ELECOMP Show in Tehran. CIMATECH focused on displaying portable as well as flush-mount units of the fully digital DCS 6000 System.

Highlight on the booth was GM 6620 Shotgun Microphone on FC 6020 and FD 6120 Conference Units and the “Farsi Language Font” available for DC 6990P Touch Screen Units.

Managing Director of CIMATECH Mr. Amir Kord and his team especially appreciated the personal support of DIS Area Sales Manager Chris Hellmuth who came personally to assist the exclusive distributor on site.

November 21st and 22nd, Moscow, Russia was the scene for our first DIS, Technical Seminar out of our Danish office. 
Two days with basic training, similar to the training we normally do in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a small group of people.  
The Technical Seminar was very well-received from all of the attendees and showed that there is a great need for local product support why we will se to, that local Technical Seminars will be a part of our program in the future.

Lithuania is half way through an EU funded project, witch provides the Lithuanian people with a better insight into the workings of its local government.

Our DIS Lithuanian distributor, Audiotonas, has so far won 30 of 60 contracts for self-government institutions, - all with equipment from DIS.

So far, Audiotonas has installed about 70 DIS DC6990P and around 250 DM6680P portable conference units with voting across the projects. A further 400 DIS CM/DM610F and CM/DM6560F flush mount conference units with voting has also been installed across the regions.

The DIS equipment handles all from streaming to archiving software, and the document management system makes sure that the Lithuanian people can se the voting results online straight after the meetings.

We hope that Audiotonas will win the remaining contracts and we are looking forward to providing the DIS equipment.
